Summers can be very hot and distressing but you can deal with that in a graceful manner. Your hair will reflect who you are. If you want to be stylish but comfortable especially during the hot season, you have to consider the hairstyles for your summer look. Here are some ideas:

  • Pony tail: The sun is up, so does the hair. Pony tail is one of the most common hairstyle that you will see during the hot season. It is easy to manage and anyone can do it. If you have specifically long and thick hair, it will be best if you wear it tight and high. Pony tail will keep your hair frizzy and messy.
  • Braids: Medium or shoulder length is not a reason for not styling the hair. If you have a medium or shoulder length hair, you should be a little creative. One way is to try braiding your hair. If you do not know how to braid, you should look for someone who knows and have them teach you. Braids have many variations that will make your hair stylish and exciting.

  • Parted bangs: Bangs can be uncomfortable when the hot season strikes. You are thinking of trimming it but that is not advisable. Let your bangs grow and when it is enough, have your stylist cut and thin the centre.
  • Messy top knot: If you are looking for a style that never goes out of season, you should consider the messy top knot. This style is easy to achieve because it is meant to be undone. It is like pony tail but it is higher and messier. You can finish it with hairspray.

They say that the hair is the crowning glory of women. That is true because the hair can make you confident and beautiful. It is time that you change your hairstyle, don’t you think so? If you are not sure what style to consider, you can ask the ideas of experts. You can go to saloons and ask for the advice of experts.

If you are particular about hair care, you can either get the services of saloons and hair spas or you can do it yourself. There are many hair care products available in the market these days so it will not be a problem. Good luck on your chosen hairstyle! Remember that if it does not look good on you, there are plenty of styles you can try.

Singapore: Odd Laws That You Don’t Know

9 Jun

You are always packed with general knowledge on your visit to other countries. You tend to study their cultures, tourists spots, best places to go and etc. How about laws? In Singapore, there are definitely a lot of things to do especially with regards to exploring the country. However, there are governing laws that everyone must follow especially tourists as it is said “Ignorance of the law excuses no one”.

chewing-gum-in-singapore-21757518

Although Singapore laws can be simply understood by a child, the penalties and the fines would make it complex and will influence you not to do it.

Litter Less, Pay More

In Singapore, laws with regards to cleanliness are very strict especially in public places. Littering is a big no-no when you are in the country (also, in other countries). But if you do so, you’ll be forced to pay $1000 and will serve in the community. If you do this thrice, authorities will force you to wear an “I am a litter hoodlum” sign.

Flush Your Sprinkled Liquid

It is strictly imposed in Singapore to not leave the public toilets dirty. After you use it, you must flush it. You cannot avoid this law because in every public restroom, there is a police that erratically checks the toilet bowls.

Chewy Law

Because authorities found out that there are a lot of chewing gums that stick in the cars, train stations as well as buses, Singapore banned the sale of chewing gum and even importing chewing gums is definitely illegal. Once caught, you will regret doing it as fines are incredibly hurtful.

Properties of Carbon Bonds

5 Jun

Like any other atoms, the electrons that make up a carbon atom are located in shells (or layers) that surround the nucleus. The inner layer contains 2 electrons (this particular shell has already reached its limit as it can only house 2 electrons).

covalent-bond-cloud-diagram

Carbon atoms contain 4 valence (also termed as valence) electrons in the following layer. This second layer can contain a maximum of 8 electrons (all atoms have greater stability when the outer layer is filled up to its maximum capacity). In order for a carbon atom to attain a full outer layer (and a more stable composition), they must form covalent bonds with other atoms (they must share their electrons with other atoms).

When 2 carbon atoms share a set of electrons, the bond produced is termed as a sigma bond (also termed as a single bond; this particular bond has a tight hold on the electrons of the 2 carbon atoms). A double bond is produced when 2 carbon atoms share 2 sets of electrons, the first shared electron set makes a sigma bond, on the other hand the second set makes a pi bond (this particular bond holds the electrons much more loosely than that of a sigma bond).

carbon_fig2

A triple bond is produced when 2 atoms of carbon share 3 sets of electrons, the first bond made being a sigma bond while the other 2 succeeding bonds are pi bonds. The electrons that make up sigma bonds are much more stable when compared to electrons that constitute pi bonds. The electrons found in pi bonds are much more likely to leave from the already formed bond to make bonds with electrons of other carbon atoms or other elements; thereby adding the said atoms to the existing molecule.

Carbon atoms have the ability adhere together in rings, chains and or interlocking grids or lattices. When a carbon atom adheres with 4 uniform atoms, the said atoms will be uniformly distanced from each other. A carbon bond is in a will produce a tetrahedral figure when 2 of the said bonds are able to produce a 109.5° angle.

Human Settlement in Pulau Ubin

2 Jun

Pulau Ubin(also referred to as Ubin Island or Granite Island) is a minute island located in the north east region of the country, to the west of Tekong Island or Pulau Tekong. The island is one of the last rural regions to be found in the country that has an abundance of natural fauna and flora and is not yet affected by the major infrastructural developments made in the mainland. In the past, quarrying for granite has been the livelihood that supported the lives of a few thousand settlers in the island; nonetheless there are only around a hundred or more villagers living in the island at this moment.

In the early 1880s, Endut Senin was believed to have led a considerable number of Malays to move out of the main land to the island via the Kallan River. A number of the past Kampong areas in the island were either titled after some characteristics of the area or by the name of the pioneer who first settled in the district

Lessons were originally taught in the village wayang stage. Bin Kiang School was built in the year 1952 to cater to the increasing population of children in the island. The student population of the school once reached 400 but later decreased as the country’s mainland continued to develop. The school was eventually foreclosed in the year 1985 and was finally demolished on April 2, 2000. There island also housed a private Malay school which was established in 1956 and was later closed in 1970.

The island was discovered to be an adequate site for the building of a number of campsites.  The NPCC (National Police Cadet Corps) established a 25 hectare camp site situated between Kampung Noordin and Kampung Bahru. The camp site is referred to as Camp Resilience wherein Secondary 2 and 3 NPCC trainees have 3 days and 2 nights stay to train. OBS (Outward Bound Singapore) was opened at the island in the year 1967 by Dr. Goh Keng Swee.

On June 03, 2005, the Government decreed that all the farm owners who were raising poultry on Pulau Ubin were to deliver them to the mainland and raise them instead in government issued farms on or before June 17, 2005 because of fear from the avian influenza.
